2018-2019 marks Ms. Hand’s 8th year of teaching at Cook County Schools. She holds a Bachelor’s of International Studies from the School for International Training, a graduate teaching credential in Montessori education from the University of St. Catherine and the American Montessori Society and a MN K-6 teaching license earned at the College of St. Scholastica. She is also a proud graduate of South High School in Minneapolis, where she grew up.

In her free time, Ms. Hand enjoys making music, creative writing, growing and eating food and spending time outside with family and friends (including 4-legged friends). In the summer she serves as the Dean of the Concordia Language Villages’ Danish village.

What she loves most about Sawtooth Mountain Elementary: Our woods and the maple tree outside our classroom window!

What you might not know about her: She’s left-handed and has messy writing.

What she loves about teaching: Getting to witness how brave students are when they “take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!” (Do you know who said those words?)
