I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education K-6 from the College of St. Catherine, and my Masters of Education with a Teaching Literacy Certificate from Hamline University.

I have had the privilege of a diverse teaching career that in the end has come full circle. My first teaching position was as a long term substitute at Sawtooth Mountain Elementary. After teaching math and science at PYC Alternative Middle School in North Minneapolis for three years and Fourth Grade and Gifted/Talented in Henning for two years, I found myself back in the Cook County Schools as the K-2 teacher at the then outlying district school Birch Grove. During my time at Birch Grove they became a charter school whereas I chose to stay and teach K-1, as well as serve on the school board, for seven years. In 2012 I came back to Sawtooth Mountain Elementary as a First Grade teacher where I could not be happier and therein completing the circle. I love teaching and feel honored to work and learn with such dedicated and experienced colleagues.
