Cook County School District, ISD 166 draws students from all over beautiful Cook County. Communities include Schroeder, Tofte, Lutsen, Grand Marais, Hovland, Grand Portage, and the Gunflint Trail. Cook County Schools, ISD 166, serves about 5,200 year round residents and an estimated 10,000 seasonal residents in the Arrowhead of Northeastern Minnesota. Cook County is 1,452 square miles in area, with borders on Lake Superior, Canada, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and Lake County.

It is nestled at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains with forest trails out the back door, school garden, school forest, and the Arrowhead Center for the Arts and the YMCA attached.
